Similarities and Differences between College and MBA Assignments

If you think that school assignments are over by the time you enter graduate studies, you better think again. Assignments are still a thing in graduate schools, especially those offering Masters in Business Administration course. But is there a difference in writing college assignments and composing MBA assignments? This short article aims to briefly discuss that.

To start off, college and MBA students are both expected to take note and follow instructions given by the assigning professor. Instructions are very important especially in the business setting. Failure to follow instructions could mean failing grades.

College and MBA student are both expected to plan their work and then work their plan. Planning and organizing is such an important skill especially for persons in businesses. It allows things to proceed smoothly even when problem arises.

College and MBA students are also both expected to seek advice if necessary. Seeking advice is not a weakness, rather it is a sign that a person is willing to improve. Professors and company bosses appreciate those who dare to ask.

Overall, the process and intricacies of writing MBA assignments is still similar to its college counterpart, although students aiming to receive MBA degrees are expected to be more professional in their writing styles. This means that an MBA student should write his assignments with more formal tone than writing a college assignment, more importantly because business tone is used. This also means that MBA assignments are expected to contain almost no errors in grammar, spelling and punctuation. Gone are the days when a student sees a lot of red marks on his final paper indicating errors and corrections. College students know how to write assignments but MBA students are expected to know what they are doing, thus should be more professional in doing any academic activity.
